PK & k pARENT information night
A parent meeting will be hosted at Santiago Hills elementary school on Thursday, February 27, 2025 from 5:00pm – 6:00pm.
Prior to the event on February 27th we ask that all parents watch IUSD’s Welcome to PK & Kindergarten Parent Information Presentation and review the electronic resources HERE.
The age requirement for Pre-Kindergarten (PK), formerly known as Transitional Kindergarten, for the 2025-26 school year includes children who will turn 5 years of age between September 2 - September 1.
School Choice
Process for Elementary School Choice - Incoming Grades K-6
Please CLICK HERE to submit an Elementary School Choice Request for our school for the 25-26 school year. The form will be open January 6th to February 28th, 2025. Families will be notified via email of School Choice decisions by the last week of May 2025. To find more information about IUSD School Choice policies, please CLICK HERE. Families currently on School Choice DO NOT need to fill out the form again.
*Note: Elementary school choice requests are submitted directly to the school. To assure that the approval is random and unbiased, the approval process is implemented as follows:
- The school choice window begins the first day school resumes after winter break and ends the last Friday in February.
- Based on request forms submitted by the deadline, a lottery is held and waiting lists (by grade level and site) are established.
- Requests received after the deadline are added to the end of the established waiting list. Please call 949-936-6000 to be added to the waitlist.
- Periodically, schools are closed to School Choice due to high enrollment.
- Parent/Legal Guardian must provide transportation to the requested school.

New to the district? Please Complete the IUSD district enrollment process by clicking here. To complete STEP 3 of the enrollment process, please call the front office at the school to make an appointment.
Tours are available for new families and there is no need to register. We ask that families be cognizant of the fact that the tour is during school hours and visits to classrooms will be made. We kindly ask families to minimize attendance to a maximum of 3 people.
