School Tour Dates
School tours for families interested in enrolling in the upcoming 2025-2026 school year will be held on the following two dates:
Tour #1: Wed. March 19th
9:00 – 9:30am: Primary tour
9:45 – 10:15am: Upper grade tour
Tour #2: Wed. April 23rd
9:00 -9:30am: Primary tour

PK & k pARENT information night
A parent meeting will be hosted at Santiago Hills elementary school on Thursday, February 27, 2025 from 5:00pm – 6:00pm.
Prior to the event on February 27th we ask that all parents watch IUSD’s Welcome to PK & Kindergarten Parent Information Presentation and review the electronic resources HERE.
The age requirement for Pre-Kindergarten (PK), formerly known as Transitional Kindergarten, for the 2025-26 school year includes children who will turn 4 years of age between September 2, 2024 - September 1, 2025.
School Choice
Process for Elementary School Choice - Incoming Grades K-6
This School Choice Waitlist request is for Santiago Hills Elementary School ONLY. If you wish to pursue a school choice spot at ANY OTHER Irvine Unified School District school site, please visit our website at http://www.iusd.org for the proper school choice procedure.
SCHOOL CHOICE (also referred to as OPEN ENROLLMENT) GUIDELINES:
Reflecting the belief that parents should have a choice of schools, the Irvine Unified School District established at its inception an Open Enrollment Policy. This policy provides the opportunity for parents who reside in the district to enroll their student in any school within the district on a SPACE AVAILABLE BASIS. The School Choice Lottery window was open January 6th - February 28th. After this date all requests will be put on a waitlist on a first-come, first-served basis.
School Choice spots may be offered as early as June but most likely will not be offered until mid-August.
Summer registrations must first be considered to determine space availability.

New to the district? Please Complete the IUSD district enrollment process by clicking here. To complete STEP 3 of the enrollment process, please call the front office at the school to make an appointment.
Tours are available for new families and there is no need to register. We ask that families be cognizant of the fact that the tour is during school hours and visits to classrooms will be made. We kindly ask families to minimize attendance to a maximum of 3 people.
