Santiago Hills Highlights

Winter Bowl was a big hit!  We had a record setting 5 teams representing Santiago Hills this year.  Each team played flag football games at the Orange County Great Park against other Irvine teams.  The teamwork and sportsmanship they displayed made us all so proud!

Each year, we honor a Santiago Hills teacher for the outstanding work they do with our students.  It’s always tough to narrow down the large field!  This year, we are recognizing the wonderful Mrs. Garey as our Teacher of the Year!  Mrs. Garey is an education specialist working with students in TK, K, and 1st Grades.  Her passion and care shine through in all she does for our students.  Congratulations, Mrs. Garey!

Have you heard?  The Parenting OC magazine is recognizing two of our fabulous faculty members in their School Heroes edition.  We all love Mr. Javier Torres and Mrs. Semara West-Simon, and they are being honored.  Mr. Torres is on their Top 25 Employees list.  He is more than a custodian for our school.  He cares about our kids and spends time getting to know them all.  Mrs. West-Simon is on their Top 10 Family Favorites.  With her dedication to bringing literature into each child’s life, she often goes above and beyond to connect with each student and their interest.  As a Top 10 Finalist, she will be honored at a reception at the Bower’s Museum this week.  We are so fortunate to have both Mr. Torres and Mrs. West-Simon here at Santiago Hills! http://parentingoc.com/2019/01/school-heroes-2019-finalists/
