Transitional kindergarten

Santiago Hills will provide all of the necessary supplies for your child to have a quality educational experience. However, you may choose to assist the school by purchasing the following supplies for your student. Thank you so much for your consideration in making these items available in our classroom!

  • 2 Large Boxes of Facial Tissue
  • 2 Packages of Baby Wipes
  • 1 4-Pack Box of Expo Markers (low odor, regular size, Expo-brand preferred)
  • 2 Black Sharpie Markers (fine point, not ultra fine)
  • 12 Glue Sticks (Elmer’s or Avery brand preferred)
  • 2 Boxes Crayola Crayons (24-count)
  • 1 Box Washable Crayola Markers
  • 1 Box Crayola Colored Pencils
  • 1 Container Clorox Wipes (for cleaning purposes and teacher-use only)
  • 1 Backpack (large enough to fit a binder, no wheels please, labeled with student name)
  • 1 Lunchbox (reusable, insulated and labeled with student name)

Helpful Items/Information for your TK Student:

  • Backpack and Lunchbox: All TK students should have a durable backpack and lunch box for repeated use. We recommend all students have a water bottle that they can easily open. Please label a change of clothes in a zip lock bag to be kept in your child’s backpack. Please also be sure to write your child’s name on the backpack, lunch box, and outer clothing.
  • PTA Room Representative: Please be aware that our PTA Room Representatives will also request parent support for activities throughout the year and a small donation to cover classroom parties and events.

For all activities and requested materials, contributions are voluntary and all students will be allowed to participate and use materials regardless of whether a donation is made. All donations are greatly appreciated and will be used directly by your child’s classroom!

1st grade

  • 3 single subject spiral notebooks (red, blue, and yellow) about 70 pages each (the style that often goes on sale during the summer)

Second grade teachers will request around $40 in field trip donations during the 2019-2020 school year to support field trips.

Please do not bring in other items (e.g. binders, paper, pencils, pencil boxes, etc.), as they are not needed.

Santiago Hills will provide all of the necessary supplies for your child to have a quality educational experience. However, you may choose to assist the school by purchasing the following supplies below for your student.

  • 1” size Binder w/metal rings & pocket inside cover – no “zipper” binders, they are too big
  • tab dividers labeled at home -- Homework, Math, Reading, Writing, Social Studies, Science, Technology
  • 1 Pkg. wide ruled paper. Please put paper in your child’s notebook
  • Sharpened # 2 pencils, no mechanical pencils, please (need two in desk at all times)
  • A red correcting pen
  • A silent reading book to be kept at school
  • Calculator (no scientific calculators needed)
  • Colored Markers

  • One sewing needle and three different colors of thread for an art project to be completed the first week of school
  • One sheet of neon colored poster board to be used for art project completed the first week of school
  • 1 Ream of Xerox paper

Fifth grade teachers will request donations around $60.00 to cover admission and transportation fees for field trips during the school year. Please note that while it is permissible under state law for IUSD to collect fees for field trips, all students will be allowed to participate regardless of whether a contribution is made.
